Ben Whishaw is a Bright Star

ben_whishaw_2006_interview_perfume_top.jpgPerfume: The Story of a Murderer (which I thought looked frikin' awesome, but haven't seen yet) star Ben Whishaw is in final negotiations to star as English poet John Keats in the period drama Bright Star. I GUESS THERE ARE SPOILERS BELOW..... The movie written and to be directed by Jane Campion, will follow the ill-fated three year romance between the English poet and Fanny Brawne, who will be played by Abbie Cornish. The romance was ill-fated as Keats died suddenly at the age of 25. I came very, very, very close to seeing Perfume twice this Christmas, but for whatever reason fate wasn't on my side and it wasn't to be. Did anyone see it, was it as good as the atmospheric trailer promised? Whishaw is one of six actors who will be playing the role of Bob Dylan in the movie I'm Not There. The others are Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett!!, Richard Gere, Heath Ledger and Marcus Carl Franklin in what promises to be a rather unique and interesting spin of on a biopic. Filming on Bright Star is set to begin late summer/early fall. source - variety
