BOND 23 To Film At Duntrune Castle in February
James Bond is returning to his roots with significant filming on the new movie to take place in Scotland.
James Bond is returning to his roots! BBC (via MI:6-HQ) have been informed by the owner of Duntrune Castle on the Poltalloch Estate near Lochgilphead in mid-Argyll, Scotland, that their home will be used for several days of significant filming on Bond 23 at the end of February. The owners of the castle said the finale to the film will be shot there;
"They are coming here at the end of February and are going to film for several days... They are using the castle - just the outside - it's going to be used for the end of the film. They want a winter scene, so they are going to bring their own snow. It looks as if they are going to construct the set and then blow it up. I think they are going to attack the castle from land and sea - there are going to a lot of bangs and explosions." I think it is meant to be James Bond's ancestral home he will bring all the villains here."In the Ian Fleming novel On Her Majesty's Secret Service, it is established that Bond's father Andrew Bond comes from the village of Glencoe in Argyll, Scotland. Fleming purposefully established a Scottish heritage to the British spy out of admiration and gratitude to Sean Connery's portrayal in the movies. Now in Bond 23, it looks like he is coming home (not that we know whether any of this will play a part in the film). Builders in the area will begin work on the site in the new year, chief Robin Malcolm is quoted as saying;
"Preparatory work begins as soon as everybody sobers up after New Year, but I cant go into details. I am sworn to secrecy."You can read the whole story at MI:6 but interestingly EON Productions won't confirm the story;
Does that mean we won't get the full press conference with the unveiling of the title (which this was heavily rumoured to be 'Skyfall' and the cast until November?"We have looked at various locations for B23. We won't confirm anything until our start of production press conference some time next month."
