Ok there can be no denying now that Ridley Scott’s new sci-fi film Prometheus is actually the Alien prequel we first heard it was. Lost writer Damon Lindelof may have done his best to come up with a concept that takes this movie in a intriguing new direction but now that we have our first good look at footage from the film, it’s obvious this doesn’t just share the same DNA as Alien but is a close, close relation.
Now the footage we have isn’t very good quality and it certainly isn’t something 20th Century Fox want you to see just yet. But it’s the best we have so far. Somehow AVP Galaxy have gotten their hands on an extremely low-quality, blurry, watermarked to hell and shaky mobile phone recording of the teaser trailer we are expecting to see officially released next month (though AVP Galaxy say this was a reel shown at Comic Con and may not actually be the teaser).
So if you can put up with the quality, here’s one minute of Prometheus glimpsed at via a montage of several scenes. Doesn’t it feel like Alien or what?

Based on what is said to be a cracking script by Jon Spaihts but made even more awesome by Scott and Lost writer Damon Lindelof – Prometheus stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Sean Harris, Kate Dickie, Ben Foster, Guy Pearce, Rafe Spall, Patrick Wilson and Logan Marshall-Green and is due to hit theaters on June 8, 2012.

They said they were not going to reference Alien too obviously, but the Derelict is seen quite a lot in this trailer.
As you mentioned, it really feels like an Alien movie. And a good one.
Holy Shiiiiiiiit! I LOVE it!!!
Blurred and almost invisible, and it still looks absolutely amazing.
I can’t wait! To find out what that giant being was in the first Alien movie is
has intrigued me for years.
