Brand New Star Wars: The Force Awakens Stills Drop Online

Entertainment Weekly has a raft of new images to share.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is only 4 months away, not that you possibly could've forgotten. But in case you're the one person who's managed to evade the film's huge promotional presence in 2015, Entertainment Weekly has a batch of fresh images to kindly catch you up to speed. These stills represent a nice collection of things new and old. We've obviously seen that Han and Chewie shot (which has been doing the rounds since the second trailer landed in April) before but there's also our best look at Domhnall Gleeson as the nefarious General Hux and two (including a phenomenal cover-image) shots of Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) in action. It's all designed to whet the appetite rather than properly inform, but it darn cool anyway.
One thing to take away from this collection is the adherence to an old school aesthetic. Aside from the presence of original trilogy writer Lawrence Kasdan in one of the shots, the images also put a strong emphasis on the physical film-making process, with actors interacting alongside actual sets and each other. There's a fullness to the production design here, harking back to the original trilogy rather than the digital-fetishism of the prequels.
The Force Awakens worldwide on December 18th. Check out the other new images below.
