Captain America: Civil War - 10 Huge Things They Didn’t Show Us In The Trailer

Where was Spider-Man?

Captain America: Civil War's trailer has sent the internet into meltdown, sending fans crazy as they pour over every frame, trying to capture every easter egg and plot hint in sight. And while there€™s admittedly tons of stuff to see in the brief amount of footage, from Bucky and Cap pummelling Tony to the Falcon flying into action, there€™s almost just as much revealed by what wasn't shown. Obviously, there's no detailed outline of the plot, but thanks to official releases, the Disney D23 Expo trailer, and plenty of internet rumours, an assortment of small details regarding the movie are known. This means that there's a general consensus about which characters are set to appear despite not being in the trailer, as well as significant plot elements that weren€™t addressed. This is all understandable, of course. There€™s an obscene amount of recognisable characters in this movie and there€™s no way a trailer was going to be able to include them all, especially while trying to convey any outline of the plot. Yet, it begs the question: why were these specific items not displayed? Does it speak to their importance to their film, or rather, their lack of significance?

10. The Vision

There€™s all kinds of rumours swirling around Vision€™s inclusion in Civil War, ranging from a potential romantic subplot to an eventual exit into space. Regardless of what he actually does in the film, the reality is that he has yet to actually involve himself in the conflict. Vision seems to be the most logical and pragmatic character of everyone thanks to his mechanical nature, so his absence from the initial fighting makes some sense. He seems like the type to weigh his options and take his time deciding on the proper course of action, staying neutral for as long as he needs to. Furthermore, he€™s so powerful that his entrance would likely turn the tide to whichever side he joins. Keep in mind, this is the guy who put Ultron down. So the question of his exclusion from the trailer likely means one of two things. Either he€™s just another secondary character in a movie full of them, or his inclusion later in the film is of great significance. Considering his power set, it appears more likely that it's the latter.
