9. Carol Already Has Her Powers When The Movie Begins

If you were expecting Captain Marvel to be a conventional superhero origin story where Carol Danvers is a regular human being who is involved in an incident which causes her to receive powers and take up the titular mantle, think again.

EW has confirmed that Danvers will already have her powers when the movie begins, hopefully allowing the film to hit the ground running and dispense with the laboured first acts these solo movies so often suffer through.

It'll be interesting to see how much the movie delves into Danvers' past, but clearly fans shouldn't expect extensive flashbacks to Carol as a child or the pivotal event where she gained her powers.
