Captain Marvel Movie: 5 Things You Need To Know

Pray for Starbuck.

Without wishing to get into petty comic book rivalries, DC sort of just lost their Ace In The Hole. The unceremonious dumping of their entire slate of superhero films up until 2020 was rather lacking in pomp and circumstance, but they did get one up on their closest rivals - with the Wonder Woman movie due out in 2017, it looked like they were going to have a female-fronted superhero film before Marvel managed it. Then last night's Marvel Event happened, and turned that on its head. During that event at Disney€™s El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, California, fans learned that July 6 2018 would see the release of Captain Marvel - as in, the awesome current Captain Marvel. As in, Carol Danvers. One of the most popular Marvel characters being published today is heading for the big screen, a little later than Wonder Woman, but this is exciting news nonetheless. No judgement, but there might be some out there who aren't aware of Ms Danvers's majesty: not only lacking their Carol Corps membership cards, but completely oblivious as to who this character even is. In which case, hold onto your hats, because her are five things you need to know about Captain Marvel.
