Casting WWE Montreal Screwjob Movie
Kylo Ren is Bret Hart. Why not?
There's perhaps no event in the history of modern professional wrestling as iconic, infamous and unforgettable as the Montreal Screwjob.
On November 9, 1997 at that year's Survivor Series pay-per-view, Vince McMahon schemed with Shawn Michaels and others to change the outcome of Michaels' main event WWF Title match against Bret Hart.
Despite Hart never submitting, McMahon instructed referee Earl Hebner to ring the bell, ruling the match in HBK's favour while viewers were left utterly baffled at what happened. If you watched it live, you'll probably never forget it.
Over 20 years later, the Screwjob remains one of the most fascinating and fiercely debated aspects of WWE lore, and it goes without saying there's room for this to be adapted into a stunning feature film.
While there's no Screwjob movie on the horizon at the moment, just imagine if someone gave it The Social Network treatment. With the right writer and director, it could certainly entice a prestige cast and shed incredible new light on one of wrestling's most enduring all-time scandals.
With that in mind, it's time to lay out our dream casting for all the Screwjob's key players...
