So, to outline this immediately, maybe don't expect to pick up the Infinity War comic and see it reflected on the big screen. That title is actually the second release in the Infinity Saga and is unlikely to lend anything to the third Avengers movie (or the fourth frankly).

Sure, it's still about the Infinity Stones, but that's about the only link we'll get aside from some of the cast members. It's probably just a case of the comic having the most marketable name for the movie.

The Infinity War film is actually taking leads from Infinity Gauntlet - the first comic arc in the Infinity triumvirate - as well as 2012 arc Infinity, by Jonathan Hickman. But even knowing that, there are some ways the film will move away from the source material...
