Conterversial Princess Diana movie in production

Princess Diana.jpgIt seems that The Queen isn't the only conterversial movie about Princess Diana's death that we are going to be subjected to in the near future. Dark Horizons have got the scoop on some quotes made by German director Christoph Schlingensief on UK Teletext where he states that the movie will focus on the last half hour of Diana's life. More info from Dark Horizons.."Schlingensief revealed that 12 hours of footage has already been shot including scenes at the Ritz hotel in Paris. German actress Jenny Elvers-Elbertzhagen has landed the part of Diana"."The film will include the actual car crash - "It can probably never be exactly clarified what happened in that hour of her death. Art has the freedom to interpret this". I guess it's official, no real life tragedy is safe from being adapted into a motion picture. It's the "freedom to interpret" quote that bothers me the most though. They have been given free license to put whatever words they want in Diana's mouth. Who knows what she was feeling in the last thirty mintues of her life and how does anybody have the right to decide what she might have said? I can't possibly see how this movie is not being "explotational". Does the last thirty mintues of her life have to be told in such a manner or even at all? source - uk teletext, dark horizons
