The By Who Lived goes all Deadpool...

By the look of the first image that's just been released for Daniel Radcliffe's upcoming Guns Akimbo - directed by Jason Lei Howden - he's a long way from Harry Potter.

Everything about the movie looks pretty off-the-wall, to be honest. It's described as an “adrenaline fueled balls-to-the-wall original action comedy reminiscent in tone to films such as Kick-Ass or Deadpool,” and there's nothing of Hogwarts in there.

The director is best known for making horror comedy Deathgasm, so that's exactly as you'd expect. And given Radcliffe's recent career trajectory has seen him consciously trying to distance himself from Harry Potter as much as possible with pretty much every role, it shouldn't really be all that surprising to see him involved in something so strange.

Radcliffe confirmed that shooting on the film was completed recently, so we can expect to see more in marketing terms:

Here's the synopsis:

"Miles (Radcliffe) is stuck in a dead-end job, still in love with his ex-girlfriend Nova (Bordizzo). Unbeknownst to him, a gang called Skizm is running a deadly competition within his city in which complete strangers are forced to fight to the death for the entertainment of an online audience. When Miles is unwillingly enrolled in the game and learns that Nova has been kidnapped, he must overcome his fears to fight back, win, and save her."

There's no release information set yet, but expect it next year.
