Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes New Trailer - Watch It Here

The sequel is due July 11th, 2014.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes shocked audiences when it first hits theatres back in 2011: not because Andy Serkis had agreed to play another primate-based character, but because it was actually really good. The surprise success of Rupert Wyatt's "prequel," which set out to explain the events that led to the original movie from the 1960s (starring Charlton Heston, you'll recall), meant, of course, that a sequel was put into production soon after - and now you can check out the brand new trailer for the latest installment in this exciting franchise. Watch it below; Here's the official plot synopsis:
"A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth's dominant species."
Sounds exciting, right? Directed by Matt Reeves, the man J.J. Abrams entrusted behind the camera for Cloverfield, this is looking to be another rollocking entry in the series. Despite the fact that we know the apes will come out on top in the end, the plot of the movie certainly allows for an interesting approach to the material. The trailer is light on details as of now, but we can at least see the humans and the apes trying to form some sort of resolution in the aftermath of the human apocalypse. Sadly, you'll have to wait until next summer to find out how the battle goes down. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Kodi Smith-Mcphee, Enrique Muriciano, and Kirk Acevedo. What do you make of the trailer?
