Superheroes have always been massively popular across the world, starting from comic books and now taking over the big screen and the mainstream media. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been dominating the ratings and on the big screen has been defeating the competition without much of a struggle. The DC Extended Universe however has often been criticised for its commonly dark themes and in comparison to the Marvel Cinematic Universe doesn't compete strongly with movies.
Enter Wonder Woman.
One of the most iconic super heroes of all time and a complete role model to women across the world it was her turn to show up on the big screen. Headed excellently by Gal Gadot this movie really captured the essence of what makes Wonder Woman. The humour and chemistry of the cast stood out as a big reason for its success.
All-in-all, it was a definite upgrade in quality for the DCEU and a step in the right direction to seriously compete with the MCU.
