Deadpool: 10 Obscure References You Probably Missed

There's more than just 100.

Deadpool is a movie that proves there's no truth in Hollywood's "You can't actually do that" mentality. You can't actually make an R-rated superhero movie that becomes a box office success? An opening weekend that trounces Batman, Superman, Iron Man and Captain America begs to differ. You can't actually reboot a character so utterly destroyed the first time around (even I said that)? An overwhelming fan thumbs up shows that's rubbish. Oh, but you can't actually do all that and make it an actually a good movie? Well, that 84% rating on RottenTomatoes says hi. Tim Miller's film may be one that relishes a little too much in the classic superhero formula, but there's no escaping how deliriously exciting it is, both as a simple translation of a unique comic book character to the big screen and as a game-changing feature that is already having an impact on how superhero movies are made. Even when it comes to minor fan concerns it can't help but prove the pre-release critics wrong. You can't actually do a movie with over a hundred easter eggs? Well, not only are there 100 (as proven last week), but there's actually even more. Repeated viewings and lengthy post-screening discussions have revealed there's some even more hidden references and easter eggs in Deadpool than those first spotted, from even more comic book winks to jabs at Marvel and even a behind-the-scenes in-joke.
