Deadpool: 100 Easter Eggs, In-Jokes And References

85. Deadpool Has An Adventure Time Watch

There's a pretty sizeable following online for Deadpool/Adventure Time mash-up art, and the movie gives those fans something a little extra to geek out about; in the opening sequence (and, presumably, throughout the film) Wade Wilson is wearing an Adventure Time watch. Best of all, it's something you can actually buy!

84. Wade's Childlike View

One particular trait of Deadpool the filmmakers have really pushed is his childlike nature (probably because it makes some of the film's more extreme elements palatable to a mass audience. This gets a rather explicit reference with Wade's tape player, which has a crude name label stuck on with masking tape, saying simple "Wade". As he's fully embraced the Deadpool persona by this point, there's something particularly humorous about this.

83. Shoop By Salt-N-Pepa Was Released The Same Year Deadpool Got His Own Miniseries

Salt-N-Pepa's Shoop was used in several trailers for Deadpool and also gets a prominent appearance in the movie; it's what Wade's listening to before clashing with Ajax's goons. But it's more that just an atmospheric scene setter - the song was released in 1993, the same year that Deadpool got his first solo miniseries.
