Deadpool 2 Has A Secret Cameo
Could Hugh Jackman return?
Not too long ago, some concerns were raised about possible reshoots of Deadpool 2 - as revealed by Josh Brolin almost flippantly in an interview - but that should have been at least a little tempered today by the news from The Hollywood Reporter that the Vancouver-based reshoots were partly done to bring in a cameo appearance.
According to their report on the test screenings, these reshoots "[included] two hours' worth of work recently in Los Angeles for a secret cameo," which has inevitably kicked off lots of speculation about who the cameo could be. Obviously, two hours isn't a long time so it's likely to be a very short cameo (which makes you immediately think of it as a throw-away gag), but if it's secret, it's probably a big deal.
So, who could it be? Well, Hugh Jackman is bound to leap to the top of the list of speculative suggestions given his "role" in the first movie and Ryan Reynolds' repeated teasing of him on Twitter. Then there's the possibility of Stan Lee, though he may already have been in there before the reshoots.
And on top of those two, there's Spider-Man (slightly less likely but big for fans), Sir Patrick Stewart's Professor X or someone else from the MCU, which would be a good way of Disney and Fox foreshadowing the expansion of the franchise to include the characters Fox previously owned. Who wouldn't want to see Deadpool and Cap clash even briefly?
