Del Toro to work on Deadman adaptation

250px-Deadman_400x6001.jpgThe great thing about the big comic book movies doing so well at the box office, is that it has allowed the "lesser" known characters to get noticed and greenlit by the major studio's. Variety are reporting that Guillermo Del Toro is to write and produce an adaptation of the DC comic book character Deadman alongside newcomer Gary Dauberman. The site is also reporting that Del Toro could end up directing the flick when it comes to shooting time. Deadman was first created in the 1960's by Arnold Drake and Carmine Infantino as a supporting character in the DC universe before getting a few mini-series of his own in the 80's and 90's. Coming Soon describe the character as... " the ghost of a murdered circus acrobat who has the power to possess the living in order to seek out his killer, as well as to help the innocent". As cool as it would be to see Del Toro directing this, I think after he has finished work on Hellboy 2 he will have bigger fish to fry. source - variety, coming soon
