I, like so many millions out there, am of the belief that Quentin Tarantino is one of this generations finest filmmakers. He’s more than just a writer and director, the man is a true cinematic visionary and it’s for this reason that from the moment Django Unchained was even announced, it’s been at the back of almost every cinephile’s mind practically 24/7.
Set for a unique release on Christmas day in the states, Django Unchained promises a lot of things; so many things in fact that I can imagine lesser directors crumbling under the pressure exerted by their own set standard. But this is Tarantino we’re talking about here. While his filmography is by no means completely unmarred, a Tarantino misstep is a rare occurrence indeed.
Yes, as you can probably already glean, I’m tremendously excited about Django Unchained and I have been since its initial announcement, however with the relatively recent release of the second trailer and the imminent release date rapidly approaching, my anticipation is really starting to come to the boil.
Tarantino movies are always hotly anticipated, but is Django Unchained his most anticipated movie yet? I’d say probably yes and for more than one reason. For ten of them, in fact (which is convenient for a list article, to say the least).
So, without more waffle, let’s call action and take a look at the 10 reasons Django Unchained is the most anticipated Tarantino offering to date.

Cannot wait to see this movie!! Seriously contemplating sneaking out on Christmas day to watch it haha :)
“DiCaprio proved how awesome he could be early in his career with his performance in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape (which netted him the Best Actor in a Supporting Role)”
He won a nomination, not a win. The reason people are excited for this film aswell is it’s widely expected to finally win DiCaprio an Oscar.
I got the opportunity/privilege/absolute pleasure to attend a screening of Django Unchained this past Friday. (It was a press screening, but a number of passes were distributed for non-press folks as well, like myself.) I can say with NO RESERVATIONS that fans of Tarantino’s past work will NOT be disappointed!! QT has topped himself once again with this slam-bang film. Very brutally violent, with patches of dark humor, and GREAT performances from all the leads. I would be very surprised if this one doesn’t net some awards.
