Escape from Tomorrow is a fantasy- horror movie surrounding an all – American family’s experience in the most magical place on earth, Disneyland. Written and Directed by Randy Moore, the movie depicts a father’s downward spiral after being laid off, as the family are on vacation he is reluctant to share his grim news and locks it away deep in the darkest part of his mind. These thoughts begin to take a toll on the father and his outlook, and things begin to take a very strange turn when he experiences some disturbing sights and the park begins to look and feel rather sinister.
The movie was famously shot ‘Guerilla Style’ at Disneyland and Walt Disney World, with no permission what so ever being obtained by any park to shoot there. So not bring any unwanted attention to themselves and ensure they flew directly under the security radar, the scripts were read strictly on the cast and crews mobile phones and the movie was shot using hand held cameras in order to fit in with fellow park patrons.
This movie was a huge hit at Sundance Film Festival but will mostly likely never be viewed by mainstream audiences due to legal reasons sure to arise between the film makers and the Walt Disney Company.
