Fall Out Boy's New Ghostbusters Theme Song Will Probably Be More Divisive Than The Film

Bring back Ray Parker, Jr.

To call the Ghostbusters remake divisive is like saying Bill Murray's pretty funny. Ever since it was announced that we'd be getting a gender-swapped redo, people have had it out for the film, and a marketing campaign that started enthusiastically terrible has almost cemented it's place as a disaster.

There's even people out there who are calling it bad outright, sight unseen. Now that's a bit much - innocent until proven sh*t should be the ethos here - but there is one thing from the film I can say with certainty still a month from release: the new theme song is cack.

Fall Out Boy's Ghostbusters (I'm Not Afraid) has just been released and I regret to say that I struggled to get through the whole thing. I'm not a Ghostbusters purist - I find the original highly overrated - so it's nothing to do with nostalgia for the much better Ray Parker, Jr. version; it just sounds incredibly confused, an assault rather than fun. I've tried to keep optimistic for the film, but this really doesn't instil much hope.
