First Look: Emma Watson in THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER

Above is our first look at Emma Watson from her first post-Harry Potter stint The Perks of Being A Wallflower, a coming-of-age tale about a shy freshman who is taken under the wing by two friends who introduce him to drugs, suicide and sex. Set in Pittsburgh in 1991, Logan Lerman plays Charlie the freshman, Watson is Sam one of the friends who takes him under their wing (the other character is Patrick but I don't see a casting for that part on IMDB) and Paul Rudd has a supporting role. Jericho creator Stephen Chbosky directs, based on his own book. Our first look at the film comes from Lerman who took a photo of Watson during filming on Tuesday and put it on his twitter account. There's also more images he took that you can see HERE. I've not read the book but I'm interested in this, mostly because I always feel disconnected from Watson having mostly avoided the Potter movies. I'd love to see what she can do with this and I like the Scott Pilgrim-esque first look. Expect this one to hit theatres next year.
