First Official Photo From Ridley Scott's PROMETHEUS!

First look at the legendary director's uber exciting return to the sci-fi genre is revealed at Comic Con.... but don't go calling it an Alien prequel!

Coming Soon have debuted the first official photo from Ridley Scott's uber exciting sci-fi film Prometheus, a movie which we are told is kind of prequel to his groundbreaking 1978 horror in space Alien but they would rather we called it an original work of fiction (i.e. - don't expect this film to be tied to future boxsets of the Alien saga, at least not for many, many years). Based on what is said to be a cracking script by Jon Spaihts but made even more awesome by Scott and Lost writer Damon Lindelof - the film stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Sean Harris, Kate Dickie, Ben Foster, Guy Pearce and Logan Marshall-Green and is due to hit theaters on June 8, 2012. We now have our first official photo of the film above with a crew member floating in space (is that Nostromo?) and an official synopsis from 20th Century Fox;
Prometheus takes a team of scientists and explorers on a thrilling journey that will test their physical and mental limits and strand them on a distant world, where they will discover the answers to our most profound questions and to life's ultimate mystery.
Ridley Scott pondering life's ultimate mystery in his first science fiction film since Blade Runner and in a film that has connections to his Alien franchise AND stars that many talented people? Yes, please. Actual footage from Prometheus will be debuting at the Con soon and we will pick-up the reaction.
