Gary Oldman is the Villain in Motor City

Oldman will play a criminal kingpin in the revenge thriller that stars Dominic Cooper in the leading role.

Gary Oldman played the villain in Albert Hughes' last movie The Book of Eli, and now according to The Hollywood Reporter he will be doing it again in his next crime thriller Motor City. Oldman, just two weeks after his first ever Oscar nomination for his extraordinary performance in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, will play a criminal kingpin. The movie stars Dominic Cooper as an ex-convict who is tracking down those that framed him to get revenge years later and save his one-time love. Blonde beauty Amber Heard has the love interest role who is under control of the kingpin. The film is based on an original screenplay by Chad St. John which found a place on the Black List a couple of years back. There was reports a while back that Motor City would get one up on this past year's cult thriller Drive where the lead character only had one single line of dialogue in the whole script. I'm not sure how good an idea that is. Setup at Joel Silver's Dark Castle genre shingle and distributed by Warner Bros, shooting begins in Berlin this April.
