Not long ago, we caught a first glimpse of WWII era Wolverine on set, and just today some on-set stills from the upcoming X-Men spin off, The Wolverine, were posted on AinItCool.com.
Directed by James Mangold (3:10 to Yuma, Knight & Day), The Wolverine will be an all Japanese based tale adapted from the famous Chris Claremont and Frank Miller run from the 80′s. It will follow an amnesic Logan clashing with several samurais in the Japanese underworld, finding love and squaring off against the Silver Samurai.
It is the sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine and stars Will Yun Lee, Hirojuki Sanada, Hal Yamanouchi, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima and Brian Tee. Hugh Jackman of course will be reprising his role as Logan/Wolverine.
The photos come from one of AintItCool’s readers, named simply Raz and were sent along with these words:
Thought you guys might like these pics taken today. They are filming parts of the new Wolverine film here in Sydney and it’s surrounds at the moment. Today they were in the small town of Picton, just south of Sydney, Australia. . They have done the street up to look like a snowy American town, complete with cars etc. Local people were asked to be used as extras also.
You can check out these on-set snaps in the gallery below. The Wolverine is scheduled to slice its way into theatres on July 26th, 2013. What do you think so far, bub? Excited? Probably not after Origins, right? Well, you never know….
