I SAW THE DEVIL Korean Poster Is Bloody & Abandons All Compassion!

(Dan Balvin is an OWF reader turned writer, answering my recent call for more contributors)I Saw The Devil will be playing at Sundance in the coming days and Magnolia€™s genre arm Magnet have released this new blood-soaked poster to promote the Korean horror. The film reunites Kim Ji-woon and Lee Byung-hun as director and star respectively, the duo of The Good, The Bad, The Weird fame. The film€™s other lead is Choi Min-sik who fans will recognize as the protagonist of the classic 2003 film Oldboy. Min-sik plays a brutal serial killer who murders for pleasure and one night kills the pregnant fiancé of Byung-hun who sets out to track his wife€™s killer down, even if it means becoming a monster himself. Take a look at the poster below, which debuted at AICN; Ok, so this poster is my new desktop background. The poster serves as a great tease for a bloody revenge film where no one is innocent and it pairs well with the striking trailer... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nY5Fq68To0E I am a huge fan of the South Korean film scene and these guys are the best in the business. A Se7en-esque film featuring them venturing on a no holds barred serial killer revenge hunt, featuring great character work, beautiful visuals, and gut wrenching violence (with a purpose)? I€™m there. No one does revenge films like these guys and whilst it€™s a plot we€™ve seen done and done well already, just like last year€™s The American, it€™s the unique touches you bring to the table that set your film apart. With the poster work for Hobo With A Shotgun and now I Saw The Devil, Magnet is doing a great job selling their excellent slate of films for this year. Both films play at Sundance, so it's going to be interesting to see how they play...
