Inside Out: 22 Easter Eggs, In-Jokes And References You Need To See

1. Joy€™s Design Is Major Foreshadowing

Inside Out does a great job of conditioning the audience into being genuinely surprised by its emotional resolution - Sadness is a natural part of life - but it had actually been teasing it from the very start. All of the emotions exist in block colours - Anger is red, Sadness blue, Fear purple and Disgust green - except for Joy, who not only has blue hair (making her look a bit like Tinkerbell cosplaying Marge Simpson), but also a strong blue glow. That essentially means that Joy has always been tinged with Sadness, foreshadowing her third act realisation. Props to Pixar that what is, in retrospect, an incredibly obvious clue didn't spoil the film's heart-warming conclusion. Were there anymore Easter eggs in the film we missed? Let us know any you spotted down in the comments.
