Iron Man Duo Mark Fergus & Hawk Ostby Writing LARA CROFT's Origin Movie

GK Films have announced that the Oscar nominated writing duo Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby (Children of Men, Iron Man, Cowboys & Aliens) will write the Tomb Raider franchise reboot that was announced two months ago for a 2013 release and which we now know will be an origin story;
"We are thrilled to be working with Graham King and his formidable team -- and we aim to write an origin story for Lara Croft that solidifies her place alongside Ellen Ripley and Sarah Connor in the pantheon of great female action heroes," Fergus and Hawk stated.
So it's Lara Croft Begins essentially and a fantastic choice of writers from what we have seen of their work so far. They told an interesting and sensible origin for Tony Stark with Iron Man and in their own way crafted a blueprint for how the Marvel film franchise will operate. I'm particularly interested to see how they tackle our female Indiana Jones adventurer's origin and a question for gamers - does she have one from the computer games or do Ostby and Fergus have free reign? Attention now turns to which young actress will be the new Lara Croft. We picked 8 potential candidates previously and my personal favourite choice... Scarlett Johansson, though we doubt they will look at anybody until the writers are well into their screenplay.
