Jeepers Creepers: What Is The Creeper?

3. What THAT Deleted Scene Tells Us

Jeepers Creepers

Jeepers Creepers 2 is a stereotypical B-horror flick which betrays everything about its unnerving predecessor. To make matters worse, its only useful and valuable scene was unfathomably cut.

In the finalised version, the blonde cheerleader from every bad horror movie ever made suddenly awakens to her psychic abilities and experiences a vision of the Creeper randomly posing as a scarecrow or Jesus Christ nailed to a cross. While the scene provides nothing new as Justin Long simply makes a cameo to spell out (again) that it gets to eat people for 23 days, the deleted alternative is way more intriguing.

Seeing the skulls of soldiers with armour, swords and shields, the deleted scene tells us that the Creeper is an ancient being that was unstoppable even in the Middle Ages. Now, it doesn’t confirm whether the Creeper predates Medieval society or if it was born during it, but the imagery at least presents some context to its ancient status.

That and the shield with an icon of the Creeper’s ugly mug supports one of the series’ most popular theories…
