Joseph Gordon-Levitt In Talks For Quentin Tarantino's DJANGO UNCHAINED

I've read the script and I'm struggling to find a role for Joseph Gordon-Levitt but I will tell you what, I'm damn well happy that he's there.

I've read the script for Quentin Tarantino's new black slavery western Django Unchained and I'm struggling to find a role for Joseph Gordon-Levitt but I will tell you what, I'm damn well happy that he's there.
Updated: It's been suggested to me that he will probably play Scott Harmony, a shy guy whose rich daddy buys him the slave Broomhilda (Jamie Foxx's character Django's enslaved wife, a role still yet uncast) to build his confidence. He has one significant scene in my favourite moment in the script (I'm not giving anything away here but it revolves around a card game and is one of those talky/tension dialogue scenes Quentin does so well). The only thing is that in the script he is described as overweight which obviously Levitt isn't, but he can play shy/sympathetic and it's an easy fix. P.S. we don't know this for sure... just what has been suggested to me.
He is a damn fine young actor who I keep hearing should be gaining some Oscar traction for his turn in the cancer comedy 50/50 and of course he has just finished working with Chris Nolan, his Inception director, on The Dark Knight Rises and is gearing up soon to work with Steven Spielberg on the Abraham Lincoln biopic. Now he's won the lottery of appearing in a Tarantino picture. How very cool. Variety confirm the actor is in talks but the casting looks to be assured as his upcoming starring vehicle Premium Rush (which he will be required to do LOTS of press) has just been moved from January 13th, 2012 release to August 24th, 2012 to allow Gordon-Levitt to shoot Tarantino's picture. I'm not sure when Lincoln starts filming or when he will be required for Django Unchained but I don't think he'll get too many days off, if any, in between. As I say above I don't know what role Levitt has secured but there's a good chance he is getting a part written specifically for him by Quentin just like Michael K. Williams has previously claimed. I'm sure all will be revealed soon. As I€™m sure you know by now Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz and Leonardo DiCaprio have the three of the four main roles (Broomhilda is the other) and Samuel L. Jackson and Kurt Russell have the two key supporting parts with lots of cameo€™s in place for forgotten 80€s t.v. legends. You can read all our casting updates HERE. Whilst I'm here... Samuel L. Jackson twittered the first behind-the-scenes make-up image from a few days ago; Django Unchained is deep into pre-production and will be released on Christmas Day 2012 by The Weinsteins and by Sony Pictures overseas.
