Jurassic World's Sequel Has (Finally) Been Announced

But what's it going to be called?

Six weeks after its phenomenal opening (even saying it now, $500 million in a weekend sounds ridiculous), Universal have finally announced a sequel to Jurassic World, due for a June 2018 release. What took them so long? This film was an obvious hit from the moment the little I-Rex poked its eye out of the egg, and while it's not exactly a cinematic masterpiece, it's clearly tapped into an audience hunger for excitement and nostalgia. And dinosaurs. It's actually nice that Universal didn't immediately confirm the sequel, and the three year gap means they have time to make something at least on a par with World - you don't reboot a franchise only so you can make another Jurassic Park III. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are locked in for the sequel, so expect more cries of sexism and unbelievable action in heels. What's less predictable is what it'll be called. Jurassic World 2? Jurassic Universe? Jurassic Worlds? Jurassic? 2 Jurassic 2 World? Jurassic Boogaloo? 5urassic Park? A Good Day To Jurassic World? Jurassic World Part II? The Lost Park: Jurassic World? Jurassic World XXL? Jurassic World... In Space? T-Rex V Raptor: World Of Jurassic? Jurassic World And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Fossil? Jurassic World 3000? I Still Know What You Did At Jurassic World? Jurassic World: The Quest For Peace? Dawn Of The World Of The Jurassic? Jurassic World: The Final Park? Back 2 Jurassic World? Jurassic: World - Rogue Island? Jurassic World: Senior Year? Jurassic Park Vol. 2? Jurassic World Episode II: Attack Of The Clones? OK, I'm done. The film recently broke what is likely to be the last of its box office records, becoming the third highest grossing film of all time. The drop off means it's unlikely to go much further (no all time prize), but this is still impressive for a reboot that could have tanked embarrassingly (hey there Terminator Genisys). Oddly enough, this was a milestone Furious 7 was reported to have passed a month ago, but its total has since been clarified to actually be slightly less than The Avengers, which puts it in the still-impressive fifth place. If I was Universal, I'd stage a cinematic rerelease at the end of the year to try and push the film over Marvel's heroes (not that it matters - at these numbers everyone's a winner). What do you think Jurassic World's sequel should be called? Should there even be a Jurassic Park 5? Share your thoughts down in the comments.
