Justice League Film: 20 Villains We'd Love To See

There's got to be a pretty compelling reason for the team to form...

prometheus green arrow The Justice League film is on the horizon. With The Avengers ascending the ranks of the highest grossing movies of all time, it's clear that superhero team-up films are in. Now, DC must play catch-up by assembling the ultimate superhero team: the Justice League. While many speculate over which heroes will make the team (seriously, it's going to be Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, and Green Lantern), less people have discussed the villains. Who will the Justice League need to beat up? While early reports speculated that Darkseid would be the main antagonist, it seems a little too early to bring him in, especially considering The Avengers 2 will feature the team going head-to-head with the Mad Titan himself, Thanos. To make things interesting, let's NOT include Darkseid on this list. We know he's everyone's number one choice already, so it'd be no fun if he just topped the list by default. So riddle me this: what villains other than Darkseid would make an ideal villain for the Justice League? Well....

20. Mongul

mongul A bit of an odd choice, since Mongul is typically a Superman villain. However, this guy has what it takes to be a very interesting antagonist for the Justice League. As the undisputed master of Warworld, Mongul forces his subjects into gladiatorial battles for sheer amusement. He forces Superman into the games, but is defeated by the Man of Steel. From that point on, he fought a whole host of other DC heroes, like Kyle Rayner's Green Lantern and Wally West's Flash. In a Justice League film, Mongul could recruits Earth's greatest heroes into his gladiatorial battles. By forcing them to battle, the audience can watch their favorite heroes go head to head in combat. Aside from being incredibly entertaining to see Superman and Batman fight, it might appeal to audiences of films like The Hunger Games or Battle Royale, where comrades and friends are forced to fight one another in all-out war. Not to mention Mongul himself is powerful enough to take on the Justice League.
