Justice League: New Batmobile, Same Old Problem

MORE guns?!

Despite the promise that Superman's death and his new found friends gave Bruce Wayne a reason to find renewed faith in humanity in Batman v Superman - and the implication that that means he might not be so casual about killing in future - his equipment still has a very distinct whiff of death machine about it.

The "new" Batmobile that will feature in Justice League has been unveiled as part of Comic Con's preview event and wouldn't you know it, now it has even more guns. Because that's what it needed, isn't it?

Having been damaged by Superman last time out, the Batmobile has now been replaced - just as Bats has a new tactical suit - with an improved version, presumably inspired by the impending doom of Steppenwolf's invasion.

Obviously the trailer showed that the vehicle will be used to mow down Parademons (as well as transporting Aquaman into battle), but the first real look we've got at it comes courtesy of the fan event in San Diego. And it's obvious that there's been a conscious effort to improve its fire power, with the addition of more front-mounted rockets.

Soon, it will be one giant gun on wheels if Warner Bros aren't careful...

Hands up who loves Batman because of his guns? Anyone? No, didn't think so. Obviously, projectiles and artillery have a place in all out war - even for Batman - but this heavy weaponry is so wildly at odds with the nuanced image of Batman that it's just vulgar.

Let's hope Matt Reeves' "reboot" of the character comes with a new vehicle for him to drive.
