Justice League: So Superman IS Wearing A Black Suit
Emo Man Of Steel confirmed.
It almost feels like years since Henry Cavill teased that his returning Superman would be getting an edgier (fully emo) make-over for Justice League on his Instagram. On the back of that posting, it was widely assumed that we'd be getting to see a more morally ambiguous version of the Man Of Steel (combined with added rumours that he'd be sporting longer hair and perhaps even a beard), in line with his reappearance in “The Death of Superman.”
A year on from that post, it seems the rumours have been confirmed - once more by an over-zealous toy-line bringing spoilers to the party.
Thanks to an eagle-eyed Reddit user, we've got a look at some of Mattel’s Justice League toy-line, which includes Superman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Cyborg, the villains and an alternate version of Superman clad in black...
Obviously, there's always some room for creative licensing in toy-lines (and the Joel Schumacher Batman movies were particularly fond of dropping supposedly tie-in toys with absolutely no reference in the plot), but this does look very much like a line limited only to in-film characters (otherwise you'd suspect there'd be much more weirdness in there).
So, it seems like we're going to see Supes rocking his black look initially when he comes back from the dead (or perhaps in mourning when someone is killed off?) before he reverts back to his more traditional look later for his big hero moment. Would you be happy with that?
