Kevin Spacey to star in 21

17-51.jpgKevin Spacey's next movie after the festive comedy Fred Claus (not to be in theatres till NEXT christmas) will be the casino-based thriller 21. The movie will be based on the best selling non-fiction book Bringing Down the House: The Inside Story of Six M.I.T. Students Who Took Vegas for Millions. The true story follows a group of young mathematical geniuses who managed to legally win as much as 4 million dollars through the art of card counting at their local Casino. Kevin Spacey was so intrigued by a short excerpt he read in Playboy magazine that he optioned the film rights back in 2002. The movie is set to begin principal photography in February with 33 year old Australian director Robert Lucketi on board to helm. His film credits include Legally Blonde, Win a Date with Tad Hamilton and Monster-in-Law which don't exactly leave you frothing at the mouth with anticipation. Interesting sounding movie with a superb lead and hopefully a director who has the vision to be able to pull it off. source - production weekly, coming soon
