Lando Calrissian Will NOT Be In Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Says Billy Dee Williams

LandNO Calrissian, more like.

Lando Calrissian is definitely coming back to Star Wars in the future, with the character confirmed to appear in next year's Han Solo anthology movie.

There he'll be played by Donald Glover, but what about the original Lando? There has been a lot of speculation about Billy Dee Williams appearing in the new trilogy, and especially The Last Jedi after the death of his ol' buddy Han.

However, we can permanently lower any expectations we might've had of Lando popping up at his friend's funeral or rejoining the good fight. During his panel at Star Wars Celebration, Smooth Talkin' with Billy Dee Williams, the actor confirmed he won't be in the movie.

Of course, there is always the chance that he's not telling the truth, such is the veil of secrecy Star Wars is always shrouded in. This does, however, seem like pretty straight (and obviously smooth) talkin'.

Williams has remained involved with Star Wars over the years, including voicing Lando in Star Wars Rebels and The LEGO Movie, but it looks like we not might see him back in live-action form ever again.

Hopefully in some form or another, though, he'll get a proper farewell befitting his legacy.
