Leonardo DiCaprio loves his ATARI

Leonardo DiCaprio is continuing his biopic trail. The Hollywood Reporter say he will star in Atari, a biopic about the young puzzle loving student who went from fixing broken pinball machines to creating the juggernaut 70's video game company whose first game was the unforgettable and popular Pong. His name is Nolan Bushnell and he is described as "The Godfather of the Video Game Industry" (he is the one on the left)... The pitch for the film was only sold to Paramount on Friday and DiCaprio swooped in to attach his name to the project from writers Brian Hecker and Craig Sherman. The duo claim the film will have elements of Mr. Smith Goes to Washington and Tucker. From young student, to a multi millionaire in a matter of a few years (he sold his company for $28 million) is a fascinating story in anyone's imagination but looking at his life on WIKI, his life doesn't have that extra bit of interest that you would think a feature would need. Sure, video games like Pong and the company Atari mean an awful lot to a certain generation but nostalgia isn't enough to be interested in biopics. Though I wonder if that is the exact thing that got DiCaprio interested in the first place.
