Look again at Cloverfield

You can now see the mysterious J.J. Abrams' trailer Cloverfield in Quicktime quality by clicking here. In our daily bit of Cloverfield news, Abrams has also suggested that there's more hidden websites for the movie not yet found by anyone and interestingly the only official site he claims is real is the 1-18-08.com site. I think he's lying because Paramount took those "fake sites" we reported about last week, but oh well. Here's a contribution from regular reader James, who gives us some theories on what the trailer could be...

I too have been caught up in the hype storm surrounding J.J. Abrams new enigmatic project. The trailer is now online at apple and after looking around and watching the trailer I've discerned a few possibilities ordered by plausibility 1) A Voltron movie. Its debut was in front of a another mech-warrior film, transformers, and if you go to voltronblog.com you can see the picture there is in much the same fashion as the trailer and the title of the jpg says "notlost", a reference to it's separation from lost and J.J. Abrams. The screams also sound quite mechanic in the trailer. Furthermore, it says 2008, the release date for this movie is 1-18-2008. However the only thing that makes me wary of this hypothesis is it's 30,000 budget, quite low for a movie of this magnitude. 2)Cthulhu movie. A monster created by horror author H.P lovecraft...I'm not sure why this theory is so popular. The only thing that mildly hints at this is the dystopian writings on ethanhaaswasright.com, supposedly the unofficial blog for the movie. 3) A godzilla movie...but budget again is quite low. The main guy in the trailer however is going to japan. 4) Something to do with Lost. 5) An original monster/disaster movie Also something I realized...in the trailer there is an explosion on the horizon. Some of the ashes go up and explode on their own, at an angle that could in no way reach the person holding the camera, yet you see pieces hit the side of the building right next to the cameraman. Interesting..as if pieces were coming from the sky...raining down...this would support the Lovecraft theory. Anyway this is all just speculation.
