As the calendar creeps quickly towards Christmas Day on the 25th of December, we’re counting down the days with a special advent calendar of festive films, revealing a set of rare images for each chosen film to surprise and delight film fans.

Somewhat cruelly over-looked by some for its technical and creative merit, Richard Curtis’ romantic ensemble, including an incredible cast of British talent is one of the finest modern movies of its type, and though it unfortunately inspired the far more crudely executed Valentine’s Day, it deserves to be considered among the best British romantic comedies of the past 20 years.

It is also a festive gem, using the countdown to Christmas to frame the narrative of interweaved stories to wonderful effect, and piggy-backing some of its romantic sentiment on the over-riding magical spirit of Christmas. And for all its complex structure and its converging story elements, it all boils down to the simplest of motifs – that love actually is all around.

Make sure not to confuse it with boundary pushing Hong King movie Love Actually… Sucks! which explores taboo subjects relating to sex in an uncomfortably frank manner…

So here we go with 10 awesome images from Love Actually you’ve never seen…
