McLovin is the villain in Matt Vaughn's KICK-ASS?

Playing the Red Mist in Vaughn's next movie.

Matthew Vaughn's comic book adaptation of Mark Millar's Kick-Ass is moving forward quickly now, The Hollywood Reporter say that Christopher Mintz-Plasse, 'aka McLovin from Superbad' has been cast as the main villain. He will play the Red Mist, the furious teenage son of a mobster who is hell bent on figuring out the real identity of the the costumed hero Kick-Ass. That hero role has yet to be cast, though I'm sure I heard fellow Superbad actor Michael Cera linked to the project a while back. 11 year old actress Chloe Moretz (The Amityville Horror) has also joined the movie. Apparently her character carry's a ninja sword and chops criminal thugs into little pieces. Unsurprisingly it's claimed that the subject matter is so violent that every movie studio said no to the project, meaning Vaughn had to come up with the $30 million himself to finance the film. They also expressed severe concern at the age of the protagnists in the movie in comparison to the graphic nature of the subject matter. Vaughn wrote the script with his Stardust co-writer Jane Goldman and it will be his next movie after Marvel balked at giving him a big budget to direct Thor.
