McQuarrie to helm Standford Prison Experiment

image_9441.jpgLast month we brought you the news that the 2001 German movie Das Experiment was to be remade into an English language film with Prison Break creator Paul Scheuring on board to direct. Click here to read the article and for more info on the film's plot. It seems plans have now changed as Variety are reporting that The Way of the Gun director Christopher McQuarrie is set to helm with no mention of Scheuring, and after looking up his IMDB page the project is nowhere to be seen on his resume. The Stanford Prison Experiment will be working from a modest budget of $11 million, with casting expected to begin right away. McQuarrie co-wrote the script for the movie and after doing a bit of research, it turns out he also wrote the amazing script for The Usual Suspects, so this guy is obviously talented. Does anyone even remember The Way of the Gun? I've heard of it... at least I think I have. I definetly haven't seen it. source - variety
