After all that quiet in the wake of Infinity War's release, the MCU really is having a big week, isn't it? The title for Spider-Man: Homecoming's sequel was "leaked" by Tom Holland over the weekend, the first reactions for Ant-Man and The Wasp emerged, and it was also revealed that the MCU will take one step closer to 'reflecting the world outside our window' by introducing more women characters going forward.

And now, even more news has come straight from Kevin Feige himself. This time it relates to Ant-Man and The Wasp, and what the touted time-gap between Infinity War and Avengers 4 bodes for the future of the MCU itself.

Though comics fans will already be aware of the fact that Scott Lang's daughter Cassie becomes the hero Stature in the comics, the thought of seeing such a move occur on the big-screen probably won't have crossed their mind. After all, Cassie is still only a child in the films, and though there's little doubt of the MCU lasting at least another six years, seeing a fully fledged Young Avengers line-up - for instance - with Cassie at the helm, would've likely been dismissed out of hand.

Maybe so, but Avengers 4's reported time-jump manages to get more and more interesting by the day. 16 year-old Emma Luhrmann will be taking on the role of Lang's daughter in Avengers 4, which has given enough cause for fans desperate to see the Avengers' youth equivalent grace the silver screen in one form or another.

When quizzed on the matter by Heroic Hollywood, Feige seemed to add even more fuel to the speculative fire, saying:

"Well … sure. And both of those you just mentioned [Runaways and Cloak and Dagger] we talked about for a long time and they went over to be successful TV shows. We’ve always been fans of Power Pack and figuring that out. And yes. So … where and when we would see the evolution of that? I don’t know. And certainly – taking our cue from the comics as we always do – that’s why we wanted Cassie, a very young Cassie in this movie, to be inspired by her father. Just planting seeds."

And there you have it. Though this isn't absolute confirmation we could see the Young Avengers somewhere down the line, Feige has confirmed that Marvel are planting the seeds for Cassie Lang's rise to super-heroism. If that means we could see the likes of Kate Bishop, America Chavez and Eli Bradley join the MCU at some point in the future - all teammates of hers in the comics - that'd be fantastic.
