Michael Moore's Sicko to be released in U.S. next month

fgd.jpgMichael Moore's first documentary film of any kind since his release of the 2004 controversial movie Fahrenheit 9/11 will hit theatres next month according to Variety. The stupid thing is though, it's going up against Pixar's Ratatouille and Live Free or Die Hard/Die Hard 4.0. The move titled Sicko will jointly be distributed by both Lionsgate and the Weinsteins. Yup, it's those Weinsteins Brothers again who messed up the promotional advertising and release schedule for Grindhouse! From Slash Film...
Moore€™s Sicko is €œa comedy about 45 million people with no health care in the richest country on earth.€ The documentary investigates health care with a focus on large American pharmaceutical companies and the corruption in the Food and Drug Administration.
The movie is said to be far less controversial than his last movie which inevitably of course means it's not going to make anywhere near as much money as Fahrenheit 9/11. The buzz has been quiet too, especially with them releasing it in just over a month and going up against two of June's biggest hits. It kinda feels like this one by float by with a whimper.
