Mike Myers writing father/son theme for AUSTIN POWERS 4

It's been Hollywood's worst kept secret that Mike Myers has been writing and developing another Austin Powers movie for the last two years now but for the first time we actually have word on what the plot may involve. Nikki Finke at Deadline Hollywood Daily has heard that it would revolve around a father/son plot between Dr. Evil and his son Scott (played by Seth Green) and as we have heard rumored previously, Evil will be the main character in what is being described as a very personal movie for Myers. Though the father/son theme is hardly new to the series, we have seen Dr. Evil, his son Scott and later Mini-Me play around with this theme in some fashion since day one and of course the last movie revolved around Powers and the problems with his father Nigel Powers played by Michael Caine.

Finke goes on to claim that Myers is currently writing the script with Michael McCullers, the co-writer of the last two Austin Powers movies and who has since moved into directing with adapting his own script for Baby Mama this year. The problem for Myers of course is finding a studio to develop the picture. New Line is no longer owned by the guys who greenlit the trilogy and after the disaster Myers had with The Love Guru over at Paramount, many believe his star power has greatly decreased in Hollywood. If a studio does greenlight the project, I could see a VERY close eye being kept on Myers as he makes this picture. And if it wasn't Austin Powers... it would be another Wayne's World so maybe we should be grateful for that. source - coming soon
