morgan freeman2 Despite being 75 years-old, Morgan Freeman's career didn't really start until the late 80s with his Academy Award nominated performance in Street Smart. He became a mainstay in pop culture after his iconic performance in The Shawshank Redemption and for his immediately identifiable voice which has led to considerable voiceover work. One of Hollywood's busiest men, Freeman is set to appear in five movies this year including the recently released Oblivion and Olympus Has Fallen, both movies currently playing at the same time in theatres worldwide. He's played everyone from Nelson Mandela to God and has gained significant acclaim and awards recognition over his many years as an actor. Despite his advancing age, he shows no signs of slowing down, even if he hasn't appeared in a good film for a while. Freeman can be suited to anything from playing the lead in character driven dramas to the mentor in action movies and has a formidable reputation as one of Hollywood's most versatile and commercially dependable actors. Freeman can most often be seen playing a paternal figure who offers strength and warmth but will occasionally go against type with varying results. His small role in Gone Baby Gone remains criminally overlooked as he poses tough moral questions, whilst his imitation of Nelson Mandela was irritatingly acclaimed.
