2. The Riddler
We have seen the Riddler on film before and, while a bit campy, it played well. But after a generation of darker, more realistic Bat-films, it's time for a new Riddler. For those who are unaware the Riddler, real name Edward Nigma, commits elaborate crimes, leaving behind zero evidence...except for a riddle. This lends itself perfectly to a darker tone as Nigma could easily be a creepy serial killer on a murder spree in Gotham, making Batman earn the title of the World's Greatest Detective; no question mark suit included.
