New Jurassic World TV Spot Makes It Look Like A Horror Movie
Welcome... to Jurassic World (that'll creep you out after watching it).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KwsK4-gT4bg This TV spot for Jurassic World (which is now only a couple of weeks away) is the 12th thirty-second tease released. Twelfth! This is the point where the marketing department normally clocks out and just throws the whole plot up on screen in a hope it'll convince the general public who haven't been pouring over every tidbit online to see this random movie. And yet it's probably the best piece of marketing for Colin Trevorrow's sequel/reboot yet. It starts out as cliched as you'd expect; there's the usual shots of the park exteriors and a happy Ty Simpkins (including an awesome shot of a holographic attraction), complete with all American voice-over proclaiming "This summer discover the one place where your family will create unforgettable memories. Welcome to Jurassic World". And then, as is wont in this series, something goes wrong. The camera flickers found-footage style and the trailer descends into shots of the film's deadly dino-action as the voice-over repeats the welcome in an ever more darker, fractured tone. It's chilling, it's simple, and, biggest of all, it makes you want to see the freaking movie. That sense of inevitabal foreboding is exactly what the film needs - they can't just ignore that things have gone to sh*t three times before. Check it out above (if you dare). Jurassic World is out all round the, well, world, on June 12th. Not long now.
