Somehow the second sequel to The Fast and The Furious stumbled on without their original muscle-bound protagonist but become less popular and distinct and Diesel- having attempted to branch out as an actor- had increasingly fallen upon hard times and returned to the franchise with 2009's popular Fast & Furious.
