New Wonder Woman Set Photos Apparently Confirm Plot Rumour

Hey, I recognise that sword.

Some new set photos have hit the web from the production of Wonder Woman, and not only do we get a taste of the period garb glimpsed previously, but there's also a very clear look at a random woman apparently gifting Diana and Steve Trevor a familiar-looking sword and shield. Based on an old plot rumour from Heroic Hollywood - oh, and a potential spoiler warning here - this sword seems to be the MacGuffin of the plot, apparently being sought by Ares, who wants to use it to conquer Mount Olympus as it would grant him increased powers and strength. Take a look at some of the set photos below for a glimpse at the weapons: https://twitter.com/comiczeroes/status/689086380639662083 What's notable is that there is as yet no one listed to be playing the role of Ares on IMDb. That can be par for the course, as Warner Bros. may want to keep the film's antagonist a secret, but it could suggest that the part hasn't been cast yet. After all, Connie Nielsen was only recently announced as playing Queen Hippolyta, and the film is already in production. If Ares is the villain in the movie, who would you like to see play him? Be sure to sound off in the comments below!

Wonder Woman is released on June 23 2017.
