Nightwing & Robin in TEEN TITANS

Plot details leaked for the other big superhero ensemble movie from WB.

Firmly over-shadowed by the Justice League movie is Mark Verheiden's project the Teen Titans. For those that don't know, the Teen Titans are a superhero team made out mostly from the sidekicks of the big heroes so you have characters such as Nightwing, Robin, Starfire etc.

Interestingly, if this movie has no connection to JLA, Nolan's or Singer's franchise then it could mean that WB have no less than FOUR different universes for their characters. For example, if Nightwing becomes a popular character and progresses then will he eventually appear in a Justice League sequel? So confusing right now isn't it? Anywhere Verheiden has been speaking to Comic Mix and let's us know that he turned in a script to the studio a while ago and has just received it back with notes, so he will soon begin his second draft. He may also talk a little more than he should about his intentions for the movie. Main bullet points from a very long interview... Nightwing will have a story in the picture and Robin will make an appearance. Titans won't be depicted as young adults. He is working at the work of Marv Wolfman and George Perez for inspiration. He is actually a friend of Wolfman and has spoke to him about the project. Other inspiration was that he imagined what it would be like to be Tom Cruise's son and always over-shadowed and in the spotlight because of your mentor/father. Warner Bros. and DC are taking this project seriously and are committed to doing it right for the fans. He wants the film to be as real as possible, only going so far as "heightened realism" and he keeps mentioning the film will have a fun feel, less serious than some superhero movies. Well he is saying all the right things and what this project clearly has in it's favour is an experienced writer who really knows how to generate interesting characters and their relationships to each other. By keeping these characters teen there is of course the chance to make them grow for future films where they could maybe interact with Batman, Superman etc from the Justice League franchise if WB choose to have them in the same universe. What's everyones thoughts on this movie at this point? We've spoken so much about JLA but what of the Teen Titans film? source - superhero hype
