PHILLIP MORRIS pre-conceived notion

Gotta be quick as I'm about to dash off to see I Love You Phillip Morris, the gay rom-com written and directed by those Bad Santa scribes that is truly finding it hard to carve out a personality amongst it's confused advertising campaign here in the U.K. I imagine it'll be gone a week after it's March 19th release, and the movie will suffer a similar fate next month in the U.S. Here's my trepidiations before going into the screening; 1. The movie premiered at the Sundance before last, with two supposedly big names leading and I'm only getting to see it now. WARNING! WARNING! 2. It's believed the movie has been cut because of it's "graphic homosexual love-making scenes", which is absurd and wouldn't happen in a movie with two women. Black Swan for example. 3. Jim Carrey hasn't turned in a good performance since Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind five years ago, and whatever happened in his personal life between that movie's release in 'o4 - to The Number 23 in '07 - changed Carrey. The roles he has been taking, the performances he has been giving, his attitude and reckless approach to his career (which cost him some big roles in '06 and '07') is kind of shocking. 4. Ewan McGregor never seems to sell a movie to me. 5. The trailer...

Anyway as always, I'll let you know.
